- זו דרך מצוינת לתעד לראיות - בסוף כל קדנציה הדפיסו את התמונות הללו והוסיפו ל"אלבום למידה ייעודי ללא בית ספר - שימו לב לחודש/תאריך ולכל נושא שהוא מכסה גם. זה גם יתמלא במהירות. אם תצאו לטיול בשווקים, מוזיאונים ,צפייה בנוף, טיולים רגליים, בכל מקום באמת - הקפידו גם לצלם כמה תמונות ולהוסיף אותן לאלבום. בסוף כל שנה יהיו לך המון תיעוד והוכחות לרישומי הלמידה הבלתי מגניבים שלך - גם אם תמלא יומן למידה בכל שבוע עם מה שילדך עשה, כל מה שהם שאלו עליו ניהלתם שיחה, כל תחומי עניין חדשים שלהם, כל מילה שהם ביקשו לאיית או המשמעות שלה, כל דבר! האם אתה חושב על חינוך ביתי השנה? או שאולי שמעתם שילדך יכול ללמוד באופן טבעי על ידי מעקב אחר פילוסופיית חינוך בשם "Unschooling" ללא חינוך, כיוון עצמי למידה ולמידה טבעית כולן אומרות אותו הדבר. חינוך ביתי טבעי עובד עם הסקרנות של ילדך. זה לפי הפילוסופיה שבטבע האדם זה אנו נוטים ללמוד באופן טבעי. חוסר חינוך הוא סוג של חינוך, שלא כמו חינוך פורמלי שבו 'מלמדים' ילד על נושאים באמצעות שיעורים וחוברות עבודה, בדרך כלל בבית ספר או בכיתה כמו מסגרת ,ילד ללא חינוך הוא אוטודידקט שבו ציפיות הלמידה והלחצים נשארים מאחור. הם לא הולכים לבית הספר, או עושים "בית ספר" כמו בבית. ללא חינוך הוא רעיון שדוחה את הרעיון של חינוך מסורתי. הם ילמדו דרך החיים היומיומיים ויאפשרו לסקרנות ולתחומי העניין שלהם להנחות אותם בדרכם האקדמית. הורים לילדים שאינם מלמדים מאמינים לילדם כאשר ניתנת להם ההזדמנות עקבו אחר הדברים שהם מוצאים עניין ועל ידי כך שהם מאפשרים לילד שלהם את החופש לפגוש רעיונות בעולם האמיתי במקום ספרי לימוד ילדם ילמד באופן טבעי שכן כל ילד סקרן באופן טבעי ויש לו את היכולת ללמוד מסביבתו כפי שלמדו כאשר למדו ללכת ולדבר כפעוטות. ​ ​ המונח "ללא חינוך" נטבע בשנות ה-60 והשתמש בו המחנך ג'ון הולט , הנחשב באופן נרחב כאבי חוסר החינוך, וחלוץ בתיאוריית זכויות הנוער. הוא עבד בבתי ספר פרטיים רבים וראה כיצד מערכת בתי הספר מכשילה את אהבתם של הילדים ללמוד. שניים מספריו, כלומר "איך ילדים נכשלים" ו"לומדים כל הזמן", הפכו לאמונות היסוד אז והיום להרבה תלמידי חינוך ביתי. הוא אומר: " זה לא שאני מרגיש שבית ספר הוא רעיון טוב שהשתבש, אלא רעיון שגוי מהמילה. זה רעיון מטורף שיכול להיות לנו מקום שבו שום דבר מלבד למידה לא קורה, מנותק משאר החיים" ​ להיות משפחה ללא חינוך לא אומר שאתה אף פעם לא מלמד את שלך לילד הכל ולסמוך אך ורק על כך שילדך ילמד בעצמו, דרך חיי היומיום הטבעיים וסקרנות ,כן ! זה חלק גדול מהאופן שבו תחומי עניין של ילד יוצרים צמיחה בלמידה, אבל הורים שאינם מלמדים מעורבים מאוד בסיוע לילדם לאסוף מידע לספק להם את המשאבים. נניח שאם ילדכם נהנה לשחק רובלוקס או מיינקראפט, כמו שרוב הילדים עושים - הנושאים והזדמנויות הלמידה כוללים מתמטיקה- כסף, מדידות, חיסור חיבור באמצעות חישובים מתמטיים מחשבתיים, אם להזכיר רק כמה. מיומנויות קריאה, כתיבה והיגיון באנגלית, מיומנויות אמנות יצירתיות שונות, מדע וכישורי חיים, כמו כן, כמובן שהם מקדמים את כישורי הטכנולוגיה שלהם עם תכנות, קידוד ויכולות מחשוב למידה כלליות. אם התשוקה של ילדכם היא לשחק בתוכנת משחקים, הם עשויים לחקור מדריכים על סרטוני הדרכה דרך YouTube וחיפושים באינטרנט, אולי הם ירצו ליצור משחקי roblox משלהם או אפילו לפתוח ערוץ משחקים ביוטיוב כמו הבן והבת שלי. אתה יכול לעזור לקדם את חוויות הלמידה והסקרנות שלהם על ידי הקשבה ועזרה בפתרון בעיות אם הם יבואו אליך לעזרה ,כמו למצוא חומרים ומשאבים זמינים כדי לעזור להם למצוא פתרון טוב יותר, או שאולי אפילו תצפה בכמה סרטוני הדרכה בנושא זה, ואז תראה לילדך ותגרום לו ליישם את השיטות האלה. הילד שלך עשוי להתעניין במשהו אחר לגמרי כמו אמנות , דינוזאורים, גיאולוגיה, לא משנה מה תחומי העניין שלהם לעת עתה , כנ"ל הם יספגו את הנושא הזה, עם מחקר, שאלות, פעילויות וידיים בזמן שהם רוכשים בעצמם, כל מה שחשוב הוא לדעת שהם לומדים ובאמת נהנים מזה! ללמד את ילדך כישורי חיים ולתת לו לקבל הזדמנויות בבית ובקהילה הם תמיד בראש סדר העדיפויות עבור משפחות ללא חינוך. תלמידי חינוך לא מאמינים מאוד שילד יאסוף מידע מסביבתו בקצב שלו ועל חשבונם, רק יחיה כל יום, באופן טבעי כפי שהם באים - ללא למידה מתוכננת של שיעורים וללא מתח לחשוב שהם עלול להיכשל מכיוון שאין מבחנים או ציונים למדידת יכולת. אין מועדים או יעדים שנקבעו על ידי מורה, הילד מקבל את החופש לחקור את תחומי העניין האישיים שלו. חוסר חינוך הוא הרעיון שילדים יכולים לכוון את הלמידה שלהם, בקצב שלהם. בדיוק כמו שפעוט לומד ללכת בעצמו ולומד כיצד לדבר בשפת האם שלהם - הילד לא היה צריך לסיים חוברות עבודה או לעשות שיעורים, הם צפו והקשיבו לאחרים סביבם, הראו להם עידוד ואמון מהמערכת האקולוגית של משפחתם - הם היו סקרנים עד שבסופו של דבר הצליחו לעשות זאת בעצמם - חלקם מהירים יותר מאחרים - אבל כשהם היו מוכנים הם מצליחים בזה. רובנו כמבוגרים באמת או שלא זוכרים מה לימדו אותנו בבית הספר כי לא היה לנו עניין לזכור את המידע, או שמעולם לא נזקקנו לו ככל שהחברה השתנתה והתקדמה במהלך השנים . אנחנו צריכים לזכור שאם אנחנו סקרנים בעצמנו לגבי משהו אנחנו כמבוגרים לומדים את הנושא הזה על ידי מחקר מידע וסרטונים על הרשת, אנו למצוא ולקרוא ספרים בנושא זה - כדי לעזור לנו להשיג ידע טוב יותר, אולי אפילו נירשם לשיעור בנושא זה. אנחנו מלמדים את עצמנו איך לעשות הדברים החדשים האלה, אז מה מונע מהילדים שלנו לעשות את אותו הדבר? שום דבר! אנחנו צריכים להפסיק להגיד לעצמנו שהלמידה מוגבלת רק לחוברות עבודה וא גישת למידה פורמלית. אין לתאר את הלמידה בתכניות הלימודים ולסווג אותה לנושאים. למידה תמיד הייתה בסביבה לפני שנוצרה "מערכת בית הספר". אנו צריך לזכור אותנו כולם נולדו כבעלי יכולת ישויות לומדות. ​ "שום דבר לא יכול להיות יותר פשוט - או קשה יותר - כי כדי לסמוך על הילדים שלנו, עלינו לסמוך על עצמנו ואת רובנו לימדו כילדים, שאי אפשר לסמוך עלינו". - ג'ון הולט ​ ​ ​
